This Crispy Parmesan Chicken with Rich Garlic Sauce recipe features tender chicken breasts cooked to golden perfection and coated with a luscious, creamy garlic parmesan sauce. Enhanced with Italian seasoning and optional spinach, this dish is perfect for a comforting yet elegant meal served alongside pasta, roasted vegetables, or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 4 small to medium chicken breasts (or 2 large halved)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup light cream or heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning or oregano
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup spinach, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper evenly on both sides. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the chicken in the skillet and cook each side for 5-6 minutes until the chicken is golden brown and crispy on the outside. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the minced garlic to the same skillet. Sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. Slowly pour in the cream while stirring continuously to combine flavors.
  3. Add Seasoning and Cheese: Incorporate the Italian seasoning and grated parmesan cheese into the sauce, stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy. If using spinach, stir it into the sauce and let the mixture simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until the spinach wilts and the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Combine and Serve: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy garlic sauce over the top. Allow it to simmer together for an additional minute to let flavors meld. Remove from heat and serve immediately alongside pasta, roasted vegetables, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • Use light cream for a lighter sauce, or heavy cream for richer flavor and texture.
  • Spinach is optional but adds color and nutrition to the sauce.
  • Make sure to not overcook chicken to keep it juicy inside.
  • For best results, grate your own parmesan cheese instead of using pre-grated for better melting and flavor.
  • This dish pairs well with a variety of sides like pasta, roasted veggies, or mashed potatoes.
